Today's expression is: TO SIT ON THE FENCE 

It means:  To stay neutral and not take sides

Here are 2 examples of the expression, TO SIT ON THE FENCE:

Example #1: You're both good friends of mine, so I’m sitting on the fence with this argument.

Example #2: You can't sit on the fence any longer!  You're going to have to choose sides!
